Commissioning a piece means bringing something into the world that could only exist for you. Each work is developed through dialogue, guided by color and intuition, and crafted with the same soulful intention as every Violet Roots painting. Availability is limited, and inquiries are accepted on a rolling basis.

The Process

Commission inquiries begin with a brief questionnaire. This helps establish scale, orientation, general color range, budget, and placement. References to past work may be shared to indicate preference, though the overall outcome is guided by process rather than replication.

After reviewing the inquiry, a project proposal and invoice are provided. Pricing reflects scale, materials, and scope. A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required to begin. Once confirmed, the project enters the planning phase.

A mood board is shared approximately one week after the deposit is received. This board establishes the palette and overall direction. It is not a preview of the final work. One to two rounds of minor adjustments are available at this stage.

Once direction is confirmed, the painting process begins. The timeline typically ranges from 4-8 weeks, depending on scale and complexity. Limited progress updates are shared to maintain continuity while allowing the work to develop organically.
Artistry is fluid. Variation is part of the process.

An image of the completed work is shared upon completion. At this stage, one to two minor refinements may be requested, if needed. The remaining balance is due before handoff.

Local pickup may be available on a limited basis for collectors in the NJ or NYC area and must be discussed at the outset. All other works are shipped upon final payment. Tracking information is provided for all deliveries.
My Art Practice
My practice centers on abstraction, color, and layered process. I work primarily with acrylic paint and digital media, allowing material, motion, and intuition to guide each piece rather than predetermined outcomes.
Music is present during studio sessions and often informs the titles of finished works. These references mark the atmosphere of the studio at a given moment rather than serving as a direct translation. Meaning remains open and interpretive.
Commissions follow the same approach. Each piece is developed through dialogue, scale, and palette, while leaving space for process, variation, and discovery. The resulting work is one-of-one and shaped by both intention and emergence.

Commissions are created using canvas or panel, professional-grade acrylic paints, and archival mediums. Paper-based works may be available for select projects.
Large-scale works are typically available for local pickup only.

The standard timeline for commissioned work is approximately 4–8 weeks, depending on scale and scope.
A more specific estimate is provided once commission details are confirmed. If timing shifts during the process, you will be notified.
